Daniel Rabin is Bruno, and Bruno is Daniel Rabin, and Daniel Rabin is a freelance circus performer, rigger and circus trainer. Daniel’s varied performance experience includes; several tours with Circus Quirkus a sponsored touring show for underprivileged audiences, the traditional family circus Circus Royale, the side show venue The Tiny Top, supporting rock band The Dresden Dolls, and performing with the Melbourne based progressive circus company Throw Down. Daniel was a founding member of Throw Down whilst he was training at NICA (the National Institute of Circus Arts, Melbourne).
Most recently Daniel co-ordinated The Divine Carnival at Northcote Town Hall, the circus hub of the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2007, for which he received the Melbourne Airport award for Most Outstanding Newcomer. As part of The Divine Carnival Daniel also directed the late night cabaret A Smorgasbord of Circus, which showcased Melbourne grown circus acts.
Daniel’s interest in Social Circus has taken him to Alice Springs to teach as part of the Tangengyre Indigenous Youth Circus Project, as well as teaching with the Blackrobats , Spaghetti Circus, Circus Oz and NICA community classes.
As a rigger, Daniel has worked for the groundbreaking circus company Dislocate, as well as Festival Melbourne, NICA and The Commonwealth Games Ceremonies and various events around Melbourne.
Often Daniel can be found on the streets of various cities performing his street show as Bruno the Circus Chef.
